This site was created in order to promote better communication among members of the Hunter Debate Team. Parents and Students can click on the Debate Calendar below to find out information about where their children are going, as well as numerous judging opportunities that help save the team money.

Our coach is Noel Selegzi. We are completely student run and have weekly administrative meetings on Mondays during the Common Lunch Period in room 308. We also have daily prep meetings Monday-Thursday after school to prepare for tournaments.

We are a member of the Manhattan Debate League and participate regularly in near-weekly local tournaments against neighboring schools like Regis, Collegiate, Stuyvesant, Poly Prep,  Bronx Science, and Baruch. We compete at many national tournaments annually, such as Yale, Princeton, UPenn, Columbia and Harvard, and consistently do well. We mainly do Lincoln Douglas Debate and Public Forum Debate
